Newest Solutions based on acnc database

Abstract: Main Objectives for I.A.U. Special Session on Innovation in Teaching/Learning Astronomy: In the IAU resolution on the Value of Astronomy Education, passed by the IAU's General Assembly in 2003, it was recommended: to include astronomy in school curricula, to assist schoolteachers in their training and backup, and to inform teachers about available resources.

This is the interactive aCNC catalog at academia saravica, based on the famous NGC. Only some minor corrections have been included in our online database and some Nasa datasheets ve been included. The HTML interface and its features were created by CSW germany. Thanks to Jonas for helpful hints and support, and naturally all lectors.

The final step of the acnc will be the book:

astarte Astro Guide
ISBN-10: 3-00-020665-5
ISBN-13: 978-3-00-020665-8

The 'astarte Astro Guide' (online database, ebook & book) is devided into three chapters:

chapter #1: astarte Catalogue of Nebular & Clusters of Stars

based on the best-known catalogue of deep sky objects in amateur astronomy - the NGC. It contains nearly 8,000 objects, known as the aCNC objects. aCNC is not specialised to just galaxies for instance.

The catalogue was compiled in the 1880s by J. L. E. Dreyer using observations mostly from William Herschel, and then subsequently expanded with two Index Catalogues (IC I & IC II), adding nearly 5,000 objects. Objects in the southern hemisphere sky are somewhat less thoroughly catalogued, but many were observed by John Herschel. The NGC contained many errors which have for the most part been eliminated in aCNC using ref data sheets from the NGC/IC Project.

chapter #2: de deus belli et filibus

daimos & phobos data sheets and namings

chapter #3: de luna

moon data sheets and namings

Neighter csw astarte verlag nor academia saravica a part of the IAU. And we didnt cooperate with the IAU (but we like the IAU - and we love the IAU after Pluto is back as planet^^). We act as naming centerpoint for individuals & companies for the new ebook and book 'astarte Astro Guide'.

Naming Service is for celestial bodies (stars, planets, asteroids, etc.) and a few surface features on them into the aCNC Cataloue.

The (e)book will contain astarte- & science data sheets for more than 10.000 objects and areas.

The free eBook (updates+) can be downloaded at this site in 2008.

Our approach is to build a free-of-charge-database system for amateur astronomy.
